VIDEO EVENING
During the conference, there will be an evening screening of videos of marine mammal interest. Anyone who has footage or images that he or she feels would be of interest to the Society is invited to submit them for pre-screening by the video committee. There is no associated charge to attend the evening, nor, beyond postage, to submit video material. If your video is selected for screening, you are welcome to give a brief two-minute introduction to the footage.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Selection
Videos will be selected by a video committee that includes a representative of the conference’s scientific programme committee. The decision of the video committee is final. Videos will be selected according to the following criteria:
- Scientifically interesting or unusual behaviour of marine mammals
- Well shot or unusual footage of marine mammals.
- Length of video - as the video evening is limited to about 2 and a half hours, preference will
be given to videos of 10 minutes or less.
- No video including advocacy, advertising or propaganda of any kind will be accepted.
Dates and Deadlines
Deadline for Submission of Entry Form: 8 September 2007
Deadline for Submission of Video Material: 8 October 2007
Acceptable Video Formats
DVD + or – R(W) from any region, NTSC or PAL will be accepted, and are preferable. South Africa’s standard video format is PAL, so VHS tapes in the PAL format will be accepted. Any other formats may be accepted by special arrangement with the video evening co-ordinator, who can be contacted at videoevening@gmail.com
Sending And Returning Videos
Please note that the conference committee and its representatives will not accept liability for any damage or loss to videos during shipping. It is advisable to make copies of your material before sending it.
The videos will be returned to you at the video evening or banquet. If you do not plan to attend the conference, please include a self-addressed envelope with your video.

The conference committee and its representatives undertake not to broadcast any footage submitted to it nor to publicly exhibit the said footage outside of the conference’s video evening. The owner of the footage retains all copyright. By submitting any material, the submitter declares that they are the owner of the material’s copyright or have permission from the owner of the copyright to submit the material.
